Established in 1867, Grand Lake qualifies as one of Colorado’s oldest towns, and certainly one of its most charming. With an authentic Western Boardwalk, featuring more than 60 shops and restaurants there is sure to be something for everyone. The town of Grand Lake serves as the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, 415 square miles filled with endless activities from taking Trail Ridge Road- that crests at over 12,000 ft, to enjoying over 300 miles of hiking trails! Grand Lake is the deepest natural lake in Colorado 265 feet at its lowest point and serves as the headwaters of the Colorado River. Along with nearby Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby water enthusiasts flock from around the state to enjoy this beautiful town.
If it happens to be winter don’t despair, Grand Lake has been dubbed the ‘Snowmobile Capital of Colorado’ due to its access from Town to Colorado’s largest network of groomed snowmobile trails. Not to mention the snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and ice fishing!
